During the month of May, all students at Cedar Creek Elementary School were able to experience an educational 40-minute program from The Raptor Center and learn about birds that live in Minnesota.

The students were able to see four birds (a falcon, hawk, owl and bald eagle), which were brought out one by one. The students listened to their story and learned about what makes each of the birds unique. At the end, the students were able to ask questions about the birds.

They met new friends like Spruce, a northern saw-whet owl, which is the smallest owl in Minnesota. They also met Lutsen, a bald eagle, and learned that Minnesota has the second largest bald eagle population in the United States.
