Dial and Imker

St. Francis Area Schools staff members William Dial and Chuck Imker were recognized by the Minnesota Educational Facilities Management Professionals Association (MASMS) for completing the MASMS Facility Manager Certification Program.

Dial and Imker were presented with the certification in October at the MASMS Conference.

Prior to the 2024-25 school year, Imker was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor, while Dial earned a promotion to Custodial Supervisor.

“William Dial and Chuck Imker are new in their current roles and their efforts to continue to learn and grow as professionals is a critical component for our organization to develop a strong culture of lifelong learning and excellence,” said Chris Lindquist, Director of Community Education. “Chuck and William are to be commended for going above and beyond the norm in an effort to exhibit outstanding leadership for our staff and greatly impact SFAS in a positive manner. I am proud of their efforts!”

The MASMS Certification Program was developed to provide a knowledge base for Building and Ground/Facility Leaders to provide safe and healthful educational facilities in the State of Minnesota.

“I took the class to be a better supervisor, and learn more about becoming the best that I can in my new role,” Imker said. “I also wanted to gain some knowledge and insight on what a facilities manager does, or should be doing, so I can better serve the district and the needs of the district, now and in the future.”

“I wanted to earn the Facility Manager Certification to enhance my skills in managing facilities efficiently ensuring safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness,” Dial said. “This certification will validate my expertise and enable me to implement best practices in facility management.”

To obtain certification an applicant must complete 52 hours of MASMS Certification Curriculum. The required curriculum is divided into five modules: Boot Camp, CPS Certification, Health and Safety, Finance and electives. The program provides knowledge, inspiration & achievement.
