St. Francis High School (SFHS) students who are proficient in world languages can use that knowledge to earn World Language Proficiency Certificates or Bilingual Seals, as well as college credit. Students are encouraged to sign up by Feb. 4 to take the test.
Test dates have been set for March 26 and March 27.
SFHS launched the Minnesota Bilingual Seals Program last school year by offering a test in Spanish and this year is offering the test in multiple languages. Visit this link to register for the test.
The Minnesota Bilingual Seals Program is an award given to high school graduates who demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English through tests presented in 10th, 11th and 12th grade. View more information about the program at SFHS.
To earn a Bilingual Seal, students must demonstrate proficiency in all four modalities of communication (listening, reading, speaking and writing). They must also demonstrate mastery of Minnesota's English Language proficiency standards to complete all required English language arts credits.
This program is for multilingual learners including English Language Learners, Heritage Language Learners, World Languages Learners, and Dual Language Immersion Learners.
